Officers investigating the growing number of break-ins in Kingsway have issued a warning to householders to look out for any suspicious activity. A local resident who has been the victim of a burglary, told the Leader as much as ￡20,000 in cash taken from one home. Kingsway resident Mohammed Miah said: “There have been quite a few burglaries which have been happening in the area. “I was burgled and I know of a few people, family and friends, who have been burgled recently. There have been homes in Kingsway, Hoole and Upton which have been targeted. “My father-in law recently had his home on Park Drive, Hoole, broken into and had jewellery, cash and electrical stuff like camcorders taken from him.” Cheshire Police were unable to confirm whether Asian households had been targeted in the burglaries, which have been occurring during daylight hours when most people are at work. Mr Miah, 35, added: “I know of people who have had large amounts of cash taken from them. In some cases ￡6,000 and ￡20,000. “When I was burgled they took some cash and jewellery. Some men tried to break in to my aunt’s house recently, they came round the back, saw she was home and just walked away. “The burglaries are happening when people are at work and something really needs to be done about it quickly.” Police confirmed they are investigating the break-ins and urged householders to take necessary precautions. DC Nicky Edgell, of Chester Outer pro-active Policing Team, said: “We are asking all residents in the area to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police. “If you are going out in the day, ensure all windows and doors are locked and set an intruder alarm, if you have one. “If you have large amounts of cash or high value jewellery in your home, you may wish to consider storing it in a more secure place, such as a safety deposit box.” According to TMZ, the actress-and-dancer left the pricey valuables in her car as she visited a friend's apartment in Hollywood, but upon returning she discovered the vehicle's door was wide open and the inside had been ransacked. Julianne, 24, contacted the local police department who reportedly found no signs of forced entry. The blonde beauty has been dating the American Idol host since April 2010 and Ryan, 38, recently indicated he wants to marry his long-term girlfriend. Recalling him presenting the Grammy Awards pre-show last month, she said: "I flew in from Nashville - I was at my sister's baby shower - and I walked in right as he was on and he looked so hot. He looked so cute! I got all giddy because it was super exciting to see my man on TV. I was so proud of him."
