A group of local business owners have partnered together to bring the joy of fresh flowers to women at nursing homes and rehab centers.

The businesses have coupons in the books to boost sales at their shops. Sprocketz owner John Nowaczyk said he hopes the books bring Mother’s Day shoppers through local businesses’ doors instead of other big-box retailers.
“This is a great way for smaller businesses to know we’re not alone,” he said. “We’re all in the same community and have the same customer base, so why not work together?”
In the book, Nowaczyk offers a coupon for 20 percent off one accessory or 10 percent off a bike for mom. He said as of Monday, he’d sold 14 books, and many of the customers bought their moms bikes. He said customers like to know they’re giving flowers to another mom at a local nursing home.
“We’re saying thanks to all moms,” he said. “Some folks might not have anyone to come see them, and all moms deserve flowers.”
